Castlefield Basin: a historic hub with trendy bars and a vibrant cultural tapestry, perfect for discovering Manchester’s rich heritage.

Our Review

Castlefield is one of Manchester’s hidden gems, particularly delightful on a sunny summer afternoon. Nestled at the southern tip of Deansgate, it’s the perfect location for a relaxing lunch or a leisurely drink. This area, rich with history, was once the bustling heart of Manchester’s canal network. Today, the old warehouses have been beautifully transformed into stylish apartments, cozy restaurants, and vibrant bars.

Castlefield Basin, canals, and Deansgate. It is a wonderful place to walk and to relax with a drink. Plenty of drink points (pubs). Lots of things are happening here. Enjoyable walk, great seeing all the old buildings right next to new.

Relaxing place with great views, one of the best locations in Manchester, for walks, run, relaxing, drinks, food, a grass area fills with people on a summers day, canal boats come and go, feed the ducks, fish for pike(find a quieter spot). enjoy the atmosphere with positive vibes, with you not being able to smoke in the hotels I’d take a trip here on an electric scooter it takes 4 mins from city centre, walking approx 10 min. Recommended anytime of day or night during the summer, the Heron hunting fish at the night time is a must see
