Our Review

The Vimto Park, nestled in the heart of Manchester, is a small but historically significant park located on the original site of the factory where Vimto, the famous British soft drink, was first concocted in 1908 by John Noel Nichols. This quaint park is not only a green space but also a tribute to the city’s industrial and entrepreneurial spirit.

A striking feature of the park is the large wooden sculpture that pays homage to the Vimto bottle, surrounded by fruits and herbs representing the drink’s ingredients. Unveiled in 1992 and carved by Kerry Morrison, the sculpture stands as a monument to Vimto’s unique heritage and Manchester’s capacity for innovation.

Over the years, Vimto Park has become a popular spot for both locals and tourists, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling city life. It’s a place where visitors can enjoy a quiet lunch break, indulge in the history of one of the UK’s iconic beverages, or simply relax amidst the park’s serene setting.

The park’s location also adds to its appeal, situated near universities and cultural institutions, making it a frequented spot by students and academics alike. Whether you’re looking for inspiration, a touch of history, or a calm spot to unwind, Vimto Park provides a charming slice of Manchester’s rich past in an intimate urban setting.

With its historical significance and central location, Vimto Park continues to be a cherished part of Manchester’s urban landscape, inviting everyone to partake in its legacy and the refreshing greenery it offers.

I love vimto, and I love that it's history is preserved in this wonderful statue my only complaint is the local council doesn't seem to be doing much about the littering going on in the park

Vimto park is located near Manchester Piccadilly station, University of Manchester, and Sackville garden. It is nice to sit there and have a break from indoor working activities.
